STRAWBERRY THIEF

Our strawberry patch has spread out quite a bit from last year. I was hopeful we would get enough strawberries for all of us to enjoy their own small bowl. My hopes were encouraged even more when I saw the flowering and then the blooming fruit. A couple of days ago I noticed some of the strawberries started to turn red and I could hardly wait to sink a tooth into one of them. Apparently another member of the family had the same idea and I have dubbed him the strawberry thief. The one and only Gavin! While I thought he was playing in the sandbox, he was hanging out in the strawberry patch! He has pulled, eaten and digested all the ripe strawberries and even thethe semi ripe, and some very green ones as well. So I have resigned my self to accept the very likely possibility that I may not have a single strawberry from my own patch after all.
